Our History
Founded in 1990, STEPA has become a leading company in the agricultural and forestry sector. We now have over 35 years of experience building cranes.
1989
The company Steindl Krantechnik is founded and starts producing overhead slewing cranes.
1990
STEPA Farmkran GmbH (Steindl-Palfinger) is founded and cranes are manufactured in the “Vogelweiderstraße” factory.
1993
Development of the first mobile crane with drive system and 3-wheel base unit.
1995
Development of the HDC series (compressive lifting cylinder) and end of distribution with Westring.
1998
Move to new premises and start of production in the new factory in Elsbethen.
1998
Construction of the first tractor crane for use in forestry.
2000
Expansion and transfer of the company PALFINGER EPSILON to the extended Elsbethen plant.
2002
Development of the first STEPA forestry trailers.
2006
Development of the STEPA forestry cranes, log splitters and extension of the production facilities.
2014
Presentation of the new hay crane generation modell 2015.
2015
Opening of the production facilities with an innovation center and new assembling hall for PALFINGER EPSILON and a doubling of the assembling halls for STEPA.
2016
Presentation of the new mobile crane generation modell 2016.
2017
Presentation of the new forestry trailers B and C series.
2018
Presentation of the new forestry trailer M series and expansion of the joystick controls for forestry cranes.
2020
Move into two new builded floors in order to offer all employees an adequate workplace and to be prepared fur further growth.
2021
Presentation of the new hay crane series "edition 30 years".
